William R. Scott, Ph.D. / LMFT - 41714

Consultation, Coaching and Psychotherapy

In 1987, Dr. Rick Scott was introduced to the field of family psychology through the age-old vehicle of family and personal crisis, and so the fascination with human systems began, and it never stopped. The initial discovery, that one could make a living studying and improving the human condition, proved to be the gateway through which the development of his current practice.

Graduating from the University of Florida in 1980 with a degree in Political Science and subsequently working in the restaurant industry as a manager for ten years facilitated an intense interest in the way people in various types of systems organize their behavior. With that initial interest Scott decided to go back to graduate school. By 1993, he had received an M.Ed./Ed.S. in counseling from the University of Florida and immediately entered a Ph.D. program in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Georgia, completing it in 2003. These programs, focusing on the psychology of “human systems” led to the development of his initial consulting enterprise in 1997 called Human Systems Consulting and an expansion of that in 2004 with Partnership Doctors.

By 2005 Scott had cultivated a thriving practice, counseling, coaching and consulting with thousands of families, couples, individuals and corporate executives. It turned out to be one of those “if you build, it they will come” experiences. They all wanted to grow beyond their conditioned pain, to evolve in more conscious ways, to live more truthful and successful lives, to be more creative and more authentic. The goal is always the same: to help remove the barriers, the roadblocks that stand in the way of the necessary growth process. That’s the objective Scott focuses on, all the time. His work helps his clients find a way to understand the process of growth from our often conditioned unworthiness to freedom and authenticity. Helping them evolve from reactivity to creativity—to become a conscious participants in the process of the evolution of our own healthy consciousness.
